5 Creative Entrepreneurs to watch in 2022

These creative entrepreneurs don’t fall into a certain demographic, but they do have three things in common:

#1) They’ve overcome adversity and challenges to arrive at a place of self-expression

#2) They’re open-minded and willing to learn on their feet

#3) The only thing bigger than their determination to succeed on their own terms is their hearts. They have a LOT of love to give to the world. They believe in the best of people. They are filled to the brim with LOVE.

Meet Kristen McGuiness, Samantha Peszek, Courtenay Semel, Nicole Edwards, and our very own Lauren Wallett. Each creative entrepreneur answered 10 questions about their secrets to success and today you get to see them all.

Basically, Anyone with an ego, no thank you.

The making of a film isn’t as glamorous as it looks & The crew doesn’t get as much credit as they should.

We are at the forefront of a new era in the entertainment industry with the rise of Cryptocurrency, NFT’s, & the Metaverse. What is your business?

I’m a launch strategist and launch coach. I support course creators and entrepreneurs who want to scale their businesses online.

Who are your best people to work with?

I am lucky to work with women who have a big-picture vision of their businesses. They’re all extremely talented and driven and just need a wing woman to help create buzz, generate leads, and close the sale with an epic pipeline and customer journey.

What do you wish potential clients knew about your industry?

There is no one magic formula for building your business online. There are a zillion and one ways to market your business and scale. It’s most important that you have a solid, consistent relationship with your audience, whether it’s on IG, in email, etc. If you show up, you’ll have more control over your desired outcome because you’ll know your audience better.

What’s been your biggest lesson in business so far?

Self-care is essential. If you don’t have your health, your business is DOA.

Favorite part of running your business?

I LOVE collaboration. Running my own business affords me the opportunity to choose who I want to work with and when. The best part, though, is creating a product, program, or experience from scratch with a client and watching it take hold and create real revenue.

Favorite social media channel?

Instagram

Best business investment?

Joining a mastermind group. No one should do this alone. It can be a lonely island running a business on your own. There is so much support out there and I gain clients every time I join one!

Your Biggest failure?

There was a time I let other people dictate what my business should look like. How I should show up. What I should produce. What I should charge. I lacked self-confidence and doubted my abilities, always turning to what others were doing or asking for permission. It took a lot of growing and grownup decisions, but I’m finally building a business that works for me.

Your Big goal for 2022?

Scale my clients to 7 figures.

What are your businesses?

First, I run Create Business Academy to support solopreneurs in scaling their businesses by standing out online. Second, as a support service, I run Malva PR. We write and distribute press releases for women-owned businesses to share their stories with the world. Third, I have a luxury candle collection of magical therapy candles called Rebella.

Who are your best people to work with?

I work with women who lead with their hearts. Creatively, I’d describe them as:

  • Ambitious self-starters who wants to impact the world and leave a legacy of love.
  • Generous freedom-seekers who wants to generate income and lavish their loved ones.
  • And Magic-makers who’s ready to scale an interdependent business that’s wildly successful.

What do you wish potential clients knew about your industry?

Starting and scaling a business is extremely creative. You’re taking a concept and making it real. The process is alchemical and magical. You’re going to need to keep combining creative elements to keep your business growing. And the secret ingredient is having content. Content is the fuel of business expansion.

What’s been your biggest lesson in business so far?

You can tell someone exactly what to do, but that doesn’t mean they’ll implement it so coaching isn’t the best solution. Rather, offering done-with-you solutions gets both you and your client’s results that speak for themselves. Results get you referrals.

Favorite part of running your business?

Writing! For my big 2022 upgrade, I created 4 new websites and 4 new blogs. I love writing. For work and pleasure.

Favorite social media channel?

Instagram for business even though it’s dying and TikTok for random personal moments and behind the scenes.

Best business investment?

My American Greencard. I don’t think I’d ever have had this kind of financial success if I’d stayed in South Africa.

Your Biggest failure?

Listening to old, white, rich, male businessmen. What a distracting, fear-based waste of my time. I kept thinking they knew more than me, but they’re just at the top of the patriarchy. I’ve had to deconstruct my own internalized misogyny.

Your Big goal for 2022?

To write lots and only work with people I adore.
